These plots are made with unbalanced ternary numbers. The most basic form really. The go from 0000, 0001, 0002, 0010, 0011, 0012, 0020, 0021, 0022, 0100, …, to 2200, 2201, 2202, 2210, 2211, 2212, 2220, 2221 and finally 2222 (4 trits). No house if it is a “0”, a small one if it is a “1” and a large house when it is a “2”. Sometimes they are connected. If that is the case you can’t see when one block is closed and another one begins. A long street really. Sometimes they are apart: semidetached.
